London Street

A full refurbishment of a 3 storey, A-listed Georgian house with a new, contemporary staircase at its heart.

We removed a clutter of 1970’s stair flights and service spaces to reveal the original stairwell and formed the new stair to flow between the levels. As the stairwell has no natural light, we formed a false cupola in blue LEDs above the stair and a series of lit, recessed slots around the curved wall (set out using the Fibonacci sequence) to provide low energy background light.
